Hi Everyone,
I am beyond excited to have been asked to join the Totally Techniques Design Team. It’s going to be so much fun exploring different techniques every month. Hope you join us in the tour to see what these amazing artists have come up with!
First Technique is “Embossed Watercolor”
With this technique we were to emboss the background as well as the image….and of course add a bit of water coloring.
My card actually features the Vintage Leaves set but I did use a few others….like Gorgeous Grunge for the Background and Sparkly Season for the Sentiment.
The leaf was colored using my ink pads and an Aqua Painter. I used Garden Green, Crushed Curry, Pumpkin Pie and Cajun Craze. Such beautiful fall colors.
The background I embossed in gold (as I did the leaf ) and used the Gorgeous Grunge to create it. I then did a light water color color wash with Pumpkin Pie so the image didn’t get lost.
Notice the doily? They are gold but so shiny and not exactly right. So….I laid it on my Versamark Pad and then dipped it into my gold Embossing Powder. Now it matches perfectly with the other embossing on the card. I hope you like it.
Please join my friend Shelagh from Canada next. Tell her I said Hello!
Would you care to have any of the supplies listed above….here is a visual for you. Just click on the item to be directed to my online store. Questions? Feel free to ask…that’s why I’m here!
Thanks for stopping in. I love it when you visit!

Stunning card Lee :-) love the wash effect you created in the background and your colour combination is just perfect. Great tip to emboss the doily so the colour matches, had not thought to do that.
Stunning card Lee.....and the background is beautiful. Hugs form Shelagh.
Stunning seems to be the adjective of choice here. I agree. The leaf is beautiful. I love the background.
