What to do with little pieces of Watercolor Paper~ Greeting Card Kids~

Hi Everyone,

As you might or might not know Stampin’ Up! Watercolor Paper is the BEST!!! However it comes in little sheets and I often have little scraps left over. So today I wanted to see what I could make with my scrap Watercolor Paper.

So what do you think??

 SAM_2192

Here is how it all began….

SAM_2178 scraps that I cut out using various framelit’s that are small.

SAM_2179 I was able to fit the cute little Girl from Greeting Card Kids on this one…..and stamped in Stazon knowing that I would be water coloring.

SAM_2180 Just a little trick…if you lay the image piece on top of a piece of colored cardstock  you will be able to see where you are stamping easier!!! Maybe it’s just my eyes!! hehe

SAM_2182 I decided to use my Markers in Chocolate Chip, Garden Green and Pink Pirouette for this image. Outlined the areas and blended from the colored line in….it blends so beautifully on water color paper.

SAM_2184 I also had a scrap of Designer Series Paper on my desk and thought what the heck…..so I mounted it onto a piece of Early Espresso. BTW the Designer Paper is called Candelight Christmas and is in our Mini Catalog.

SAM_2185 I thought waht more could I do to this card….well how about some paper piercing? Template, Piercing tool and mat are from Stampin’ Up! too. I love how it all matches our framelits. Can’t go wrong there!!

SAM_2186 Viola’!

SAM_2187 Now I thought I would take some of our Lace ribbon and ruffle it a bit on the back of the mat. Just gather it and lay it on top of some sticky strip.

SAM_2188 I attached it with dimensionals on one side as the other is already raised with the ribbon. You can use glue dots to hold that side down if you want. I also embossed the front part of the card with the Lacy Brocade Embossing Folder out of the Min for some added Texture.

SAM_2189 Then…..kind of important I stacked two dimensionals on top of each other on one side of the image piece and a glue dot on the other side so it would sit level on the card.

SAM_2190 There you have it!! My card made with scraps of Watercolor paper and DSP! Love when I use my STUFF!!!

Great idea to use up those small pieces. That stuff is too expensive to waste! In addition to the hint about putting the white shape on colored paper to see it better, I've also used temporary adhesive to hold it still. Sometimes those little suckers like to move around.

Great idea, Lee. It's always helpful to have ideas to use scraps. Your art piece turned out so cute!

Absolutely brilliant! I love the use of Chocolate Chip, and I love how you popped everything up with those Dimensionals. (and thanks for showing me how to blend a little better, too!) {hugs} Celia
