Snowflake Soiree’ and ‘”Sparkle Powder” Tutorial

Hi Everyone,

You know I did a card for Founder’s Circle using a technique I kind of threw together…..several people emailed and asked how I achieved it. So I’ve done another card featuring the Snow Flake Soiree Set using the same technique. Let’s call it “Sparkle Powder”

I cased this card design from Mary Fish but did it in another color and used Embossing Powder. Thanks Mary for the inspiration.

SAM_2353_thumb[4]can you see the sparkle better?

Here is how I did it?

SAM_2329_thumb[3]you will need stamp set of your choice, Heat and Stick Powder, Dazzling Diamonds, Embossing Powder, Heat Tool, Versamark, Embossing Buddy and tray to catch your powder.

SAM_2330_thumb[3]

I poured some Silver Embossing Powder into a small container.

SAM_2332_thumb[3]

then added some Dazzling Diamonds

SAM_2333_thumb[3]

cover with lid and shake to mix together

SAM_2334_thumb[3]

I placed my image piece onto a black piece of card stock as it’s easier for me to see. Sometimes it’s difficult to see white on white and where you are stamping.

SAM_2335_thumb[4]

Rub image with Embossing Buddy (really well)

SAM_2336_thumb[3]

Begin with stamping all of your images onto your image piece with Versamark

SAM_2338_thumb[3]

Then pour some Heat and Stick Powder onto the image piece and heat set……can’t show you that as I only have two hands…hehe

SAM_2339_thumb[4]

Immediately while the Heat and Stick is still warm pour your “Sparkle Powder” over the image and tap off excess.

SAM_2340_thumb[3]

You may need to use a soft brush to get stray flecks off. I had a time today with it in Florida as it’s pretty humid.

SAM_2341_thumb[5]

Now heat set again….heat tool in the background….heheSAM_2346_thumb[3]SAM_2347_thumb[3]

I used a scrap of Brushed Siler Card Stock and taped some white Taffeta Ribbon to the back of it….saving ribbon. Attach to your 4 1/4 x 11 Card Base.

SAM_2348[8]SAM_2349[7]

I used my Magic Bow Maker to create my perfect Double Bow. (available for sale at the top of my blog)

SAM_2345_thumb[3]

Attach image piece with dimensionals

SAM_2350_thumb[3]

….and bow to the card using a Glue Dot

I then assembled and added my Basic Rhinestones.
