It’s Time for another sketch Challenge from Stamping 411

I hope you’ll visit us over there and play along if you can.

Here is today’s sketch:

….and my interpretation:

Stamping 411 Sketch 1-15 007

Oh, I’m so excited about this great Sweet Pea Designer Series Paper and Stamp Set from the new Sale-a-Bration Brochure. Isn’t it darling? The Stamp Set is Happy Moments.

Anyway I cut the Designer Series Paper to 4x 5 1/4” and cut in half from point to point on the diagonal. You can do this by placing the pints in your cutter grid (the points, that is). then I cut my Pretty in Pink to 4 1/4 x 5 1/2 “ and did the same thing. Now instead of me layering it with the old Olive I wanted….I used my Stampin’ Up! marker and just used the cardstock that was already down and just drew a line of old olive. Kind of like a faux layer if you will.

Next I made the layers for the image piece. The Pretty in Pink Layer is: 2 1/2” x 3 1/8”….Old Olive Mat is: 2 3/8 x 2 1/8” and the white image piece is 2 x 2 1/4”.

I stamped the image twice and colored and cut one of the cakes and popped it up with dimensionals.

You’re probably wondering where I got the white background piece with the pink dots. Well I made it. I punched out a bunch of 1/4” dots and used a bit of my Tombo Multi Adhesive and stuck them on randomly (or maybe not so randomly, I always have a pattern). I then punched a scrap of card stock with my 1/2” circle punch and held it over the little pink dots to use as a template to make a circle of tiny little dots around the pink dots. Can you see it?

I’ve added some Dazzling Diamonds to the pink dots and also the center of the flowers to give it a bit of bling.

My final step was to add a little ribbon…so I grabbed our new pink satin ribbon. Oh my word…it’s to die for. I taped it across the bottom and pleated a bit and added some of those cute “Stitched Felt” Sweet Pea flowers.

I guess that’s it for today. I hope you enjoyed your visit and I hope to see you over at Stamping 411.

Have a Stampinglee Good Day!

My thoughts exactly, the softness of spring. I am ready for that "green" smell in the air. Looking at your card I can almost "be there".

I too love that new DSP and will be sad to see it go. I especially am in love with the piece that you used, I wish that I could buy that in bulk. Your handmade background paper is so pretty, wherever did you come up with that idea? Love what you have done with the sketch your card is so soft and feminine. I love it!!! You always do such wonderful work.
