Stamping 411 Sketch 167 Inspired by Nature

Hi Everyone,

Welcome to another Sketch Challenge from Stamping 411,

I found this one a bit challenge for me so hope you like what I’ve come up with.

Here is the sketch…..ssc167

…and my interpretation…..

All I knew was when I saw the sketch all I could see was Inspired by Nature…of course this came out nothing like what I envisioned. Isn’t that funny how that happens?

411 Pictures Sept. 2010 002

Okay now where to start….this was a definite work in progress for me as usually I’m not this involved with so many things going on but it just wasn’t complete without it…for me anyway.

I started by cutting my Shimmer White Card Stock to 4 1/4 x 11 and folding in half. I then stamped my Image on a 4x 5 1/4 piece of Simmer White but did whittle that down….so the dimension for that is…3 1/4 x 4 1/2. Now I added ink to the image by using my sponge daubers ( I love those things) using Early Espresso and Cajun Craze…not finished yet…I daubbered on a bit of Champagne Shimmer Paint onto parts of the image….huffed really good and stamped on my Shimmer White Piece. It’s so shimmery in real life…sorry I wasn't able to capture the effect for you on camera. I then cut the image piece in three…..1” from either side which left a 1 1/4 piece in the center. It wasn’t supposed to be that way but I cut my Early Espresso Mat before I cut my image so had to adjust it!!!! It was one of those DUH moments!!! Now it still needed something so in keeping with the sketch I took a piece of Cajun Craze and wet it with water and crinkled it up and tore it and all that. Then when it was dry I tore it in a few pieces (3) and taped it to the back of the mat. just peeking out. …oh…but before I did that I used my sponge daubber again and added some shimmer paint to all of those wrinkles and crinkles to age it a bit. I added a 3/4 x 4 1/4 strip on the bottom of the card and added a few of our new Vintage Brads, my bow and a Thank You stamping in Espresso and punching with my small oval punch. I adhered it with dimensionals. PHEW!!!….and that is how I made my card.

I hope you like it and I hope you will check out what the other Operators have done today.

Thanks for stopping by and as always…..

Have a Stampinglee Good Day!
