Stamping 411 Sketch #253 and Color!!

Hi Everyone,
We’ve got a great sketch Challenge for you this week. I love it sometimes when things challenge me and this one did. Not sure why but it made me stretch.
You know me and my white cards……well………I’ve strayed.
ssc253
Not sure why but I needed some color in my card this week. I’m sure some of you are saying it’s about time!!! hehe
 sketches253 002_thumb114
This just is how it feel here “Hot and Sizzling” with pinwheels blowing in the very slight breeze! Okay I think the heat has gotten to me.
This is a delightful set and one I wanted to play with.  It’s called Sweets for the Sweet.
  • My card base is TEMPTING TURQUOISE….and cut to 5 1/2 x 8 1/2
  • I created a border using the Scallop Edge Punch and using some thin scrap pieces cut to 5 1/2 wide in Daffodil Delight
  • I then attached it to a piece of Big Top Birthday Designer Series Paper cut to 2 x 5 1/2
  • Love this new Daffodil Delight Seam Binding and of course did a double Bow with it. I then tucked the ends behind the DSP Mat
  • My Next Mat is Daffodil Delight and cut to 2 5/8 x 3 5/8
  • My Image Piece is cut to 2 1/2 x 3 1/2. I stamped the clouds with Temping turquoise and used my aqua painter to drag a little color from the outside line to the center of the clouds.
  • The pinwheels were stamped on scrap paper and cut out, then popped up with dimensionals. I added a rhinestone to the center of each.
  • My final touch was the bright Yellow Butterfly cut from daffodil Delight using the Butterfly embosslit. I then attached with a glue dot.
Well that’s it for today. I hope you have enjoyed my share today and will play along.
Have a GREAT weekend.

All you have to do is place a $50 merchandise order on my website and I will get one of these out in the mail to you!!! You will receive 1 packet of 12-4x4 sheets!!! That’s enough to easily make 12-25 cards!!

                dsp Sampler card 004

OMG!!! I’m so excited about this new Summer Smooches Designer Series Paper! I had one little piece left that measured 1” x 12 “ and I thought ….I hate to waste it. So this is what I came up with. I hope you like it.

dsp Sampler card 009

  • My card base is Whisper White and cut to 5 1/2 x 8 1/2
  • The Lucky Limeade Mat is cut to 3 7/8 x 5 1/8
  • Whisper Dotted is cut to 3 3/4 x 5 and run through the Big Shot using the Polka Dot Embossing folder.
  • Then came my DSP strips cut to 3 7/8 x 1
  • The flowers were made using the Flower Fusion Sizzlet and glued together with glue dots. I added a pearl to spruce it up a bit.
  • The strips of DSP were adhered and then a strip of Ruffled Ribbon down the center…..
  • Did little bows with my bow maker and that’s it!!!
  • Sentiment is from Sincere Salutations

So lesson learned…don’t throw those little DSP pieces away….see what you can do with them.

Thanks for stopping in…see ya next time!

“Z” Fold Card and Tutorial

Hi Everyone,
I’d like to share a little Tutorial with you today. It’s for a “Z” Fold Card. So easy you’re going to love it!!!
Z Fold Card 036
Isn’t it cute??? I just love how fresh and Summery it is!
Want to learn how to make this??? Just follow these few simple steps.
Z Fold Card 017 assemble all your goodies you want to use including your Simply Scored.
Cardstock Sizes are:
  • Card Base 4 1/4 x 9 3/4 and scored at 2 3/4 x 5 1/2
  • Green Mat is cute to 2 5/8 x 3 7/8
  • DSP cut to 2 1/2 x 3 7/8 using the Summer Smooches
  • Square Scallop Die Cut in Red
  • Image piece in White cut to 2 5/8 x 2 5/8
  • White and Green Card Stock for Daisy Die
Z Fold Card 018
score card base at 2 3/4 x 5 1/2
Z Fold Card 019
It should fold like this…..
Z Fold Card 020
Separate out  your Daisies and use your two-way Glue Pen to glue to each other making a cluster and let dry.
Z Fold Card 022 Z Fold Card 023
Z Fold Card 024
Stamp Sentiment on your small white square and mat with the red scallop.
Z Fold Card 025
Using your Cropodile punch a small hole to accommodate the cute little Summer Smooches Brad that will sit in the center of your Daisy and then it will attach to the Red Scallop……like this.
Z Fold Card 027
Z Fold Card 028
The back will look like this. The beauty of this is that it won’t get top heavy as it is attached to the mat rather than just sitting there attached with a glue dot.
Z Fold Card 031
Next you will add a few dimensionals to the back so you can attach to the card. Don’t add them to the side that will open as you don’t want to stick that part down.
Z Fold Card 030
Attach Designer Paper and Mat to the front of the card.
Z Fold Card 032
Assemble and see what you can do with any scraps that are left.
Z Fold Card 036
See where I added it and then some bling???
Hope you enjoyed this quick little Tutorial and will give it a try. This was fun!!!!
