Stamping 411 Sketch #262

Hi Everyone,

Wow!!! We have had some torrential rains here in Jacksonville, Florida. We’re so fortunate to be out of the storm. We had almost 20 inches of rain in just two days……now that’s wet. Great time for creating though.

Here is this weeks sketch

Sketch 262-001

…and my fun interpretation. Hope you like it.

sketch 262

How fun and bright and fun huh? You know me and my white….well I’ve got some poppin” colors going on with it.

  • The card base is 5 1/2 x 8 1/2 and is Whisper White.
  • The bottom Piece is Daffodil Delight and cut to 2 x 4 1/4
  • I then ran it through the Big Shot and used my Polka Dot Embossing folder and then cut the bottom with the Large Scallop Edgelit. How fun!
  • I added some Primrose Ribbon to separate the papers and it blends pretty well.
  • The strips of card stock also embossed with Polka Dots are 1/2 inch x 4 and cut as needed when placed. The colors are Melon Mambo, Wild Wasabi and Pretty in Pink.
  • The circle is cut with my 2 1/2 inch Circle Punch. I actually cut two. One from the Polka Dot DSP and the other from Whisper White. I attached the two together to add some substance, so it wouldn’t be wimpy.
  • I then stamped the cup Cake Images from Create A Cupcake and popped up on Dimensionals.

Hope you like it I had tons of fun doing this one. I brought a little sunshine and fun to my stamp room…as it was so gloomy outside.

Thanks for stopping it. I hope to see you back soon.

Stamping 411 Sketch Challenge #261

Hi Everyone,

Are you ready for some fun??? I hope you will play along this weekend…this sketch is so much fun to create with.

Here is the sketch:

Sketch 261-001

…and my interpretation of it.

SAM_0678

close up of the cute flowers

SAM_0678

  • My Card base is done in very Vanilla and cut to 5 1/2 x 8 1/2
  • The Vanilla Mat is cut to 4 x 5 1/4 and embossed with the Fancy Fan Folder
  • Then I have Basic Gray Mat that is cut to 2 1/16 x 5 1/16 (I love tiny borders)
  • The DSP (Fan Fair) is so pretty and cut to 2 x 5
  • The Image mat in Basic Gray is cut to 2 13/16 x 4 5/16
  • The Image piece is 2 3/4 x 4 1/4 and stamped with the Flourish from Everything Eleanor in Basic Gray.
  • The cute little flowers are so delicate and fun. I had a scrap of the same DSP and used my little flower punch from the Trio Pack and punched out to match perfectly. I also took my stylus and pushed down in the center of them to curl them up a bit. Then added a pearl and attached with a glue dot.
  • The sentiment is from Create a Cupcake and the Bitty Banners Framelit was used to cut it out.
  • Let’s not forget the finishing touches of the Double Loop Bow done with the Vanilla Seam binding. Ooh-la-la!!

Want to know how I came up with this color combo? Well I knew I wanted to use this DSP so looked in my catalog to see what colors were coupled with it in the package.

Did you know that listed below every package of Designer Paper there is a list of the colors used in the paper? Well there is and boy did that make this card easy to do using that little bit of help. Try it! You’ll love the results.

As always, thanks for stopping in and don’t forget to go and visit the other Operators over at Stamping 411. You’ll be glad you did.

Clear Mount Tips and Tricks

Hi Everyone,

I just want to share a little something with y'all. Only because I discovered people don't know how to mount their stamps properly. I guess I shouldn't say that, as everyone might do it differently and that's all good but here is the way I do mine if you are interested. Also a few tips at the bottom I just discovered. So make sure to read on.....

SAM_0561 SAM_0562

  • Stampin' Up! Stamps come in rubber sheets as seen above. You pop one out and then find the label on the sheet of labels to affix to it. All you have to do if find the image and peel off  the paper covering like shown.

SAM_0563 SAM_0564

  • Here is the full image with paper removed and then you remove the backing from the stamp.

SAM_0566 SAM_0567

  • Next I position the stamp over the image and it fits perfectly into the cut area.

SAM_0568 SAM_0569

  • Lay flat down and press a little

SAM_0570 SAM_0573

  • Loft off and Voila' You've got your clear mount stamp done!

SAM_0574 SAM_0576

  • Now for the tips and Tricks!!!  I take my Two Way Glue Pen and squiggle a little of it onto the image...now you know when Two- Way Glue dries it becomes like Post-it Note Glue!!! So for climate like mine (Sunny Florida) I can really use a little help with my clear stamps sticking to the Acrylic Blocks.  Anyway make sure to let it dry for about 15-20 minutes and it works beautifully! AND...it leaves no residue on your blocks!

....by the way....I do the whole set at once to save time.

SAM_0577 SAM_0578

  • Another Trick it to peel off the backing of the rubber sheet

SAM_0579 SAM_0580

  • Just like this and attach to the Clear Mount Case it came in. Now you have a little organized storage for your stamps. So when you open your box they don't go flying everywhere! I've done that several times.....hehe

SAM_0581 SAM_0582

  • Here is a picture of the case open and standing ....see how it sticks? Now you can just set your stamps in there.

SAM_0583 SAM_0584

  • Here it is standing up open with the stamps set back in there and then closed.

I hope you enjoyed my little Tips And Tricks today.

Thanks for stopping in!!!

Stamping 411 Sketch #260

Hi Everyone,

I’ve got a totally fun set to share with you today. It’s the new Bootiful Occasions Set from the New Catalog. It’s just adorable!

Here is this weeks sketch:

SSC_260

…and my interpretation.

SAM_0560

This really is a very loose interpretation as I made it my own but one that I liked and fit my project. You know you don’t ever have to follow a sketch exactly but it’s a great starting point. I saw this sketch and this just stuck in my mind. As much as I wanted to follow the sketch I felt this was as done as I wanted it. So I eliminated a few layers to my liking. You know me….simple and easy!

  • The card base is Daffodil Delight and cut to 4 1/4 x 11 and folded in half after scoring at 5 1/2
  • The Real Red Mat is cut to 4 x 5 1/2 and scalloped at the bottom.
  • The cute-cute-cute red and white DSP is cut to 3 3/4 x 4
  • The Daffodil Delight long Banner is cut to 1 3/4 x 5 and i know you can’t see it but I used the Stripes Embossing folder on it to give it interest and a completely different design than the Polka Dots.
  • I then added a bit of Daffodil Delight Taffeta Ribbona nd tied a Double Loop Bow and attached to the back of the red mat and attached to the card base.
  • I stamped the image with Basic Black and colored in with a Daffodil Delight Marker.
  • Then I ran it through the Big Shot using one of the Framelits and popped it up on the front of the card with Dimensionals.

This card was so simple and fun to make. I hope you enjoyed seeing it. Make sure to visit the Stamping 411 Blog to see what the other Operators have done and what are participants have done. They are amazing!!!

Thanks for stopping in. See ya next time!

Isn’t it gorgeous? I just love the detail of the stamps and the punch to match just throws it over the top for me. So Easy! This card took about 10 minutes from start to finish. Maybe even less.

  • The card base is Whisper White and cut to 5 1/2 x 8 1/2
  • The Pool Party Mat is 2 x 4 1/4 and run through the Big Shot with the new Chevron Embossing Folder
  • Pool party Ribbon is used for the Double Loop Bow (made with my Magic Bow Maker).
  • I used scraps of Wisteria Wonder for the side accents made with the scallop Edge Punch (cut to 4 1/4 x 1)
  • The center Panel was stamped with the one of the Butterfly’s in Wisteria Wonder, Pool Party and Wild Wasabi.
  • I then stamped another set and used the fabulous Butterfly Punch to easily cut them out, and attach with glue dots. Love that!!
  • Add a little bling and you are good to go.

Fabulous You!

I have been dying to get my hands on this new little set from Stampin’ Up! It’s called “Fabulous You”!!! Wonder why??? hehe

I can remember wearing Fabulous shoes like this!! Can’t you?

Anyway a friend of mine needs to make some simple yet fabulous Invitations and we thought about this set…..what do you think?

SAM_0551 SAM_0549 (perfect bow)

Lot’s of bling and pizzazz don’t you think? Actually I just realized you can’t see the Vintage Wall paper embossed on the Black Background…..it’s pretty stunning with this shoe.

I stamped the image with my Brand Spankin’ New Black Ink Pad! I LOVE it!!!! I do have to be a bit more patient with it as I see a smudge on the card. Oh well this is just my sample and I think Jo Ann will like it.

I also used the Certainly Celery Taffeta Ribbon tied into a single loop bow …..I only spaced my bow maker with one hole. So the bow would be really small and oh so cute on this shoe.

SAM_0552  SAM_0553

I did this with my Magic Bow Maker available for purchase on the right side of my blog. It sure does make Bow Making a Snap. Especially when you’re all thumbs like me!

Hope you like it JoAnn! I’ll be emailing you this shortly.

BTW….do you have a new Catalog yet? If not and you don’t already have a Demonstrator contact me by clicking the contact me button on the top right. I’ll be happy to get one to you.

Thanks for stopping in….see you next time!

Stamping 411 Sketch 259

Hi Everyone,

It’s here again!!! The Stamping 411 Sketch Challenge. If you have not played along with us before I sure hope you will, if only for yourself. There are tons of fun sketches and ideas on the Stamping 411 Blog and I just know you will enjoy it.

So here is this weeks sketch:

SSC_259

……..and my interpretation.
SAM_0524

I had lots of fun doing this one. I am showcasing the Tea Shoppe Stamp Set this week. It’s really a gorgeous set. These three tea cups are actually  on one stamp but I cute them into three to use them in a single fashion which I like. Not to say you should do that just sayin’.

  • My card base 5 1/4 x 8 1/2 in Whisper White (I know, gasp) hehe
  • My mat is Pool Party and is cut to 3 7/8 x 5 1/8
  • White Polka Dot Mat is cut to 3 3/4 x 5
  • The Polka Dots are done with a Pencil Eraser tapped into my Pool Party Ink Pad and stamped in a random fashion.
  • The Pool Party Mat under the image is cut to 2 7/8 x 4 5/8
  • The white mat is cut to 2 3/4 x 4 1/2
  • The tea cups were stamped in Island Indigo, Lucky Limeade and Pool Party.
  • They were then punched out using the 1 1/4” circle punch.
  • The coordinating mats were cut with the 1 3/8 Circle punch and the images were attached. They were then popped up using dimensionals.
  • Before I added the Polka dot mat to the Pool Party mat I attached a Double loop bow to the back side of the Polka dot with tape. Then built my card.

Hope you enjoyed my little share for today and will think about visiting us over at Stamping 411.

Have a great weekend and see you next time.

Stamping 411 Sketch 258

Hi Again!!!
Where did this week go, huh?
I’ve been so busy with classes and swaps and just trying to keep my head above water. ….but I did have time to do the sketch this week. Hope you like it.
Here is the sketch…
ssc258
…and my simple interpretation….
SAM_0386
This card was so easy to make. I almost felt like I was cheating. Here is what I did.
  • White card base cut to 5 x 10, scored at 5” and folded
  • Lucky Limeade cut to3 5/8 square
  • White Image piece cut to 3 1/2 square
  • DSP cut to 1 3/4 x 3 1/2
  • I stamped the words from Just believe in Lucky Limeade at the top left.
  • I then adhered the Floral District DSP to the bottom
  • Made a Double loop bow with the Ruffle Lucky Limeade Ribbon and attached to the back of the Lucky Limeade Mat.
  • I then attached that to the card itself.
  • Butterflies were cut out of Lucky Limeade and Tangerine Tango to match the DSP. Fun huh?
  • I then finished it off with little pearls for the bodies of the butteries…..hope you like.
That’s it for today. I wish you all a wonderful weekend and if you get a chance to play along we’d love to see you over at the Stamping 411
See you soon!

SAM_0233

This was my table at on the Disney trip when we first got our catalogs..quite a fabulous group of ladies…it started with my friend Sandi MacIver and myself and then my friend Tami White joined us and then Michelle Zindorf and Karen Duke and on and on it went. It was Fabulous! great bunch of ladies and we had tons of laughs and fun gazing at all the beautiful things.SAM_0232

There was a surprise for both Tami and myself….we were quoted in the catalog. I’m on the last page of the Catalog with the Ronald MacDonald Set and Tami is on page 77!! Karen Duke found it and said hey you guys you make it in the catty!! Whoo Hoo! So then Tami asked for my Autograph…can you imagine…the #1 Demo in the company asking for my autograph? Then I got hers what fun. Then everyone at the table wanted out autographs…..how funny. I felt like queen for a day!!! (Blushing here)

Here is my quote  and Tami’s: Mine was signed by Shelli. What a thrill!
