image

Don’t forget the online Extravaganza over at Stampin’ Up! I’ve got some awesome things on sale you might not want to miss. Just visit my website to see what’s happening. You won’t be sorry.

Now…..

I had a special gathering here for some sweet ladies who have requested owl projects.

This  is a little Gift Card Tin that I did for the group of Sorority Sisters. The Owl is their Mascot so how handy it is that we have this cute little punch to accommodate them.owl projects 001

I spruced him up by giving him a Glitter Vest for the Holidays and added to the stripes below with the same Glitter paper. T

They had tons of fun making this little guy….I hope you enjoy him too.

Have a great Sunday!!

Stamping 411 Sketch Challenge #231

Hi Everyone,
This is really a different sketch today, I wasn’t sure what to do with it. Then I got this idea. Hope you like it.
Here is the sketch
SSC231
….and my interpretation. Wow!! Not sure why my camera has a glow to it in the right corner at the bottom but it does…huh? I’d like to say I know how to work with filters to soften things but this is not the case. hehe…..so you get some special effects here too!!
Sketches 231-232-233 001
The card base here is So Saffron and is cute to 5 1/2 x 8 1/2
The mat is done in Black and run through the Big Shot using the Finial Press Embossing Folder.
Then we are back to a So Saffron Mat that measures 3 1/8 x 4 1/4…then I have a clack mat measuring 3 x4.
The image pieces are actually the Timeless Portrait cut into 3/4” squares and attached to the black Mat. I ran that through the Big Shot as well with the Finial Press and sponged in So Saffron when done just to age it a bit.
I tied a single bow with the Black Satin and Crochet Trim Ribbons together for an old timey look and attached with glue dots.
It’s kind of different…..and I can use it for just about any occasion. Make sure to check out the Stamping 411 site to see what the other Operators have come up with.
Have a great weekend!

Stamping 411 Sketch Challenge #230

Hey Everyone!!!
Hope you are all having a fantastic week! I know I am.
It’s time for another sketch challenge from Stamping 411 sure hope you will take the time to visit or even play along. It really is fun seeing everyone’s take on a fun sketch. Speaking of fun sketches….here it is….
ssc_230
….and my interpretation…..
CTC #7 sketch 230 and door card 002
Isn’t this a fun fold? I cut my Vanilla Base to 4 1/4 x 11 and scored at 2 1/4 x 7 1/2.  I added some Soft Suede to the 2 1/4 inch section cut to 2 1/8 x 4 1/8…then added my very favorite DSP Mocha Morning cut to 2 x 4 and added to the bottom or the card. Oh before I mounted it I added a double loop bow using the Crum Cake Seam binding.
The top of the card houses a Embossed piece of Vanilla that has been run through the Big Shot with my Fav embossing folder Vintage Wallpaper. Love it!!!
Now the easy part…..cut two circles using the two circle dies….can’t get much easier than that. One in Soft Suede the # 1/2” circle and one in Vanilla in the 3” circle.
Stamp the Vanilla Circle with the image from Happiness shared in Soft Suede and color in with your aqua painter using the Watercolor Crayons. I then added one single pearl in the center.
Here is how the card opens…..hope you like it.

Colored Soot Stamping Tutorial

Hi Everyone,
Good to be back again for a little bit anyway. Seems forever since I posted. Today I’ve got a card I made using the “Colored Soot Stamping Technique” Hope you enjoy it!
                                      colored soot stamping 016
…and here is how you do it.
1. Select the colors of ink you would like…I thought I would use two colors but ending up using one. Stamps you would like to use and some Mat Finish Clear Acrylic Sealer. I like to use a taper candle for this technique too.  You’ll need some sponges and white glossy paper and something to light your candle with. .colored soot stamping 001
2. using your sponge sponge all over your piece of Glossy Card Stock. I always use a larger piece as you never know how much of it you will have left once you do this! hehehe
colored soot stamping 002 colored soot stamping 003
3. Light your candle and holding at an angle touch the flame to the colored side (shiny side) of the Glossy Card Stock. Keep it moving once you see soot starting to appear.
colored soot stamping 004 colored soot stamping 005
3. Continue on until the sheet is almost all sooted up! Now here is what I’m talking about….It caught fire twice on me….you though I was kidding about making your cut bigger than needed, to start, didn't you? NOT!! Holy Moly or should i say Great Balls of Fire!!! Make sure to blow out any little fires you may start.
colored soot stamping 006 colored soot stamping 007
4. My sooted cardstock, minus a bit! Not take your stamp of Choice and dry stamp onto the piece removing the soot. Make sure to clean stamp in between stamping so it’s doesn’t build up and you get a clear image. Do not touch the area as you will get soot all over you. See the flame? Don’t do that!!! hehe
colored soot stamping 008 colored soot stamping 009 colored soot stamping 010 colored soot stamping 011
5. Once you’ve cleaned your stamp and finished your piece spray it with the Clear Acrylic Sealer and let dry for a few minutes and cut to desired size.
colored soot stamping 012 colored soot stamping 013 6. Sometimes you have to settle for less! As you can see I had two fires so had to make my card in the other direction. It’s all good. Just trim and design something lovely with your Soot Stamped Piece.
                                       colored soot stamping 014
…and here is what I made with my Sooted piece. Hope you’ll give this fun technique try!!

Stamping 411 Sketch Challenge #229

Welcome back to another Sketch Challenge from Stamping 411
Without further ado here is the fun sketch and I hope you will play along this week.
ssc_229
…and my interpretation…..
Sketch 229
This is such a fun and cute card I hope you like it. It’s done with the fabulous Cherry Cobbler For the Card Base and then matched with a layer of Crumb Cake. I ran that layer through the Big Shot using the Snowflake Embossing Folder. The strip going across measures 1 1/2 x 5 1/4 and then I added a touch of Cherry Cobble by using the Ribbon Border Punch. Don’t you just love the little snippet of color peeking out? The Cirlce was made using the Pennants Die from Stampin’ Up!….love, love, love those decorative circles they have on that die. I paired it with the 1 3/4 Circle Punch for the image piece. The best way to do the image is to stamp on a piece of scrap paper and then punch out…..by looking at the bottom of the punch you can see exactly where you are punching. So you get perfect placement of the image.
I used the Merry Christmas Sentiment from the Contempo Christmas Stamp set and punched it out using the x-large Oval Punch and then cut a Cherry Cobbler Circle in half to adorn it along with the Rhinestones and Double Bow make with Sherry Cobbler Seam Binding.
This was a fun and fast card to do…..I hope you like it.
Thanks for stopping in…it’s always nice to see you again.

Stamping 411 Sketch Challenge #228

Okay these weeks are going by entirely too fast for me. How about you? Do you feel the Holidays sneeking up on you? Well I do and had to take action!

I needed a really quick card as I totally ran out of time this week and decided to use a product I had sitting here. Here is the sketch

SSC228

…and here is my super quick card for this week. No Stamping involved. hehe…

Sketch 228

This card was made using the Riding Hood Red Card Stock for the Base and Chocolate Chip and Old Olive for the Mats. The RR Mat is 4x 5 1/4 and the OO Mat is Embossed with the Snowflakes Folder and is cut to 3 7/8 x 5 1/8. I did a double row of ribbon for interest and them just used some of the Quick Accents in this case “Letters From Santa and popped them up with Glue Dots. That’s it!!!Holy Moly this was the fastest card yet. There are some cute little images in that set.

Well I hope you enjoyed your short little stay and will come back soon. Don’t forget to play along with us over at Stamping 411!
