Stampin’ Out Hunger the Stampin’ Up! Way!

Hi Everyone,

I’d like to share a little of what we did yesterday at our Stampin’ Out  Hunger Event to help our Second Harvest Food Bank here in Jacksonville, Florida.

Some of my team members and myself gathered together and hosted an event to help feed some hungry kids this summer. You know June is the hungriest time of the year for most food banks, as kids are home from school and not getting their lunches…therefore the food banks have to fill that need as well. So of course we had to help!!!

I’m so proud of that and my team members that participated. We are making a difference and we’re having fun doing it!!

Stamping 411 Sketch #209

Hi Everyone,

Welcome to another Sketch Challenge from Stamping 411!

This was really a very fun sketch to do. I love the different panels and possibilities here.

Here is the sketch….

SSC_209

…and my interpretation.

sketch 209

The colors for this card are So Saffron for the card base which is 4 1/4 x 11. The Mat is Basic Black and is 4 x 5 1/4. Then the mats are Just Add Cake DSP (from the new catalog) 2 1/4 x 3 1/2, the Calypso Coral (my new fav) is 1 5/8 x 3 1/2 and embossed with the Square Lattice Folder….the bottom horizontal so saffron piece is 1 5/8 x 3 7/8 and embossed with the Perfect Polka Dots Embossing Folder!!! I love my Big Shot…..dont’ know what I would do without it.

The Image Circle is punches with the 2 1/2 Circle punch and the Black Circle Mat was cut on my Circle Scissors to 2 3/4. The Butterfly is from the Nature Walk set.

I colored the Butterfly in with my So Saffron and Calypso Coral Markers and added some Dazzling Diamonds. The Sentiment is from Happy Greetings in the Summer Mini.

It still needed a bit more so I added some dots to the circle with my black marker. That’s it. I hope you like it and hope that you will play along with us on the Stamping 411 Blog.

Have a Great weekend!!!

Sail Away~Happy Father’s Day!!

Happy Father’s Day to all you special Father’s out there today. Yes there are some that follow my blog. Even some stamper’s!! Isn’t that wonderful?

Sail Away Father's Day Card 002

I made this card for my Husband early this morning …don't know if you can tell but it has the world stamped behind the vellum image. If I could give him something special it would be a trip around the world…but of course I can’t so this card will have to suffice for now! hehe

I stamped the image on cardstock Vellum and flipped it over after drying. Then I took my stylus and rubbed it across the sales which give it a weathered white look. Very pretty in person. I mounted that on Baja after stamping my world in Basic Gray. I stamped the background stamp from Best Dad Ever on the card base of Basic Gray to give a feel of texture. I then punched some holes in the side of the baja and vellum to hold together and threaded some white baker’s twine through. I really wanted to tie some nautical knots on there but he caught me in the process of making this and they just didn’t happen.

Wishing my Hubby and Son Chad a very Happy Father’s Day and the same to all the other wonderful Dad’s out there.

Have a fabulous Day and see you next time.

Stamping 411 Sketch #208 Love and Care

HI Everyone,

Time for yet another challenge from The Stamping 411 Team. This one was fun…I hope you will try you hand at it.

I actually took the liberty as we are allowed to make it our own.

ssc208

I made my Square….more expensive to mail but oh so pretty and makes a statement.Sketch 208 009

I used the Because I care set from Stampin’ Up! it’s a Level 2 Hostess set in the Mini Catalog. It’s so user friendly and easy to use.

The card base is Very Vanilla and is cut to 5 1/4 x 10 1/2 folded in half. the next layer is Basic Black is Embossed on the Big Shot using the Vintage Wallpaper Embossing Folder (one of my favorites). the next layer is Cherry Cobbler and measures 3 1/4 x 3 1/4 the next layer is very vanilla and topped with another layer of Very Vanilla that is stamped with Crumb Cake to make it look a bit Vintage and then the flower is done using a Cherry Cobble Marker and a Old Olive Marker. The sentiment is stamped with Black Stazon just to tie in all the colors.

I hope you enjoy my interpretation and I also hope that you will play along and feel free to share your interpretation.

Thanks for stopping by!!! See you soon!

Fabulous Florets and My Spray Painting Technique

Hi Everyone,

I’ve got a great little technique I came up with last week that I want to share with you.

Here is another card using this technique…..I did one a few days ago remember?Spray Painting 037

Isn’t it pretty? I hope you like it.

Here is how I did it….and these are some of the supplies you will need. Alcohol, Re-inkers (I’ve used Calypso Coral and So Saffron). Black Embossing
Powder, Powder Pal, Embossing Buddy, Versamark, Black Embossing Powder, Heat Tool,Champagne Shimmer Paint and Mister Bottles. You might want to add lots of Paper Towels as this gets messy.

Spray Painting 001 Here are your supplies

Spray Painting 002 Rub over Whisper White Cardstock with your Embossing Buddy to prevent specks of Embossing Powder from Sticking to where you don’t want it.

Spray Painting 003 Stamp Images with Versamark

Spray Painting 007 Pour Embossing Powder over your Powder Pal and gently shake excess off.

Spray Painting 008 You know what…do a lot at one time and have extras on hand to create fast and beautiful cards later.

Spray Painting 011 Heat set with your Stampin’ Up! Heat Tool

Spray Painting 012 Now comes the fun!!! Take your Alcohol and your Re-inkers and Shimmer Paint and Misters and get ready to get messy and have fun!

Spray Painting 013 Fill your bottle about 3/4 full with alcohol.

Spray Painting 014 Then add Re-inker Drops. I think I did about 12 and it wasn’t dark enough so I did a few more. You can adjust to your liking.

Spray Painting 015 Next add a little Shimmer Paint simply by taking the wand from the Mister and dipping into the shimmer paint about three times or to your liking. Put top back on Mister and gently shake…..

Spray Painting 023 I sprayed onto my grid paper and then thought….Duh!! Where are my paper towels. I did see the beginning of something beautiful though! hehe!

Spray Painting 024 Take your sheet of embossed flowers and start lightly spraying to where you’d like the different colors. I started with the saffron Spray Paint.

Spray Painting 026 Then the Calypso Coral….you can go back and make it more intense or do a little of each on every flower.

Spray Painting 030 Then I took it one step further and wanted to create some background paper with this technique. So I lightly sprayed some of both colors on a piece of Whisper White Cardstock and let dry. Oh yes even though it’s alcohol… you do wet the paper and have to let it dry for a few.

Spray Painting 032 While that was drying I started to cut some flowers out.

Spray Painting 033 ….these are what is left for another card later!!

Spray Painting 034 I decided to do a little crimping to enhance the beauty of the paper and flowers. I’ll cover that next time.

Spray Painting 037 …and here is the assembled card using So Saffron for the base and I love using a Mat of Black to make the whole thing POP!!

The Black Satin Double Bow was made using my Magic Bow Maker to get just the right look!

If you would like to order any supplies to make this card just contact me or visit my online store.

I hope you enjoyed this Tutorial!! Back to the Drawing Board for more fun things to share!! See you next time!!
