Stamping 411 Sketch #236

Hi Everyone,
Time for another Sketch Challenge from Stamping 411.
Here is the sketch:

…and my interpretation.

I used the new Apothecary Art Stamp Set on this one. Can I say I’m in love with this new product!!! Well I am!!! Talk about card making made easy!!!
The base of the card is Very Vanilla and cut to 5 1/2 x 8 1/2 and folded in half. The next layer is 4 x 5 1/4 and run through the Vintage Wallpaper Embossing Folder. I attached my Always Artichoke to the back of that mat after tying my double bow on my bow maker. I then stamped the image in Black Stazon onto a piece of Very Vanilla and placed it in my Big Shot using the new Framelits to cut the shapes. Holy Moly!! It’s fantabulous!!!
The coloring was done with my Aqua Painter and Watercolor Wonder Crayons..I went with Rich Razzleberry on this one. Love it!!! So rich and Beautiful in real live and took me no time at all.

Uncle Jim!

2011 is almost a memory. Hard to believe but true.

One of my latest memories is having dinner with our favorite Uncle Jim who live in Georgia. We were pleased when he agreed to have dinner with us and our son and his family right before Christmas. He’s always tons of fun and has so much to share. Needless to say we all love Uncle Jim!!!

Here is my family with Uncle Jim right before Christmas.

Isn’t he handsome (he’s in the Blue Sweater). Over the years this man has shown all of us just how special he is. He is one of the finest men I have known in my life. He was always kind, loving, caring, considerate and compassionate …as well as intelligent and thoughtful. Having him in our lives was a great gift from God.

You know he mentioned he wasn’t feeling well and we thought it was because of his last surgery and you know…..you don’t always have a great appetite after surgery and he had five!!! You’d never know it as he just does and goes on without complaint. He just had his 88th Birthday and joked about how he had to renew his Drivers License and wouldn’t have to do that again until he was 98!!!  He always makes us laugh.

Well on December 27th Uncle Jim was taken to the ER as he just didn’t feel well and he passed away within 3 hours. His lungs were full of fluid. We are just devastated to lose this inspiration in our lives. We will be saying our goodbyes tomorrow.

Thank You Uncle Jim for always being there for us and for making us laugh and cry and everything in between. I hope you know how important you were to us and how much we adored you.

I will never forget you…..

Stamping 411 Sketch #235

Hi Everyone,
First I would like to wish all of you a very Merry Christmas and a wonderfully Happy and Healthy New Year!!! Where has time gone…..it soon will be 2012!!! Hard to believe isn’t it???
Today I’ve got a fun card for the sketch challenge. Hope you like it and will take a minute out of you busy day to play along with us over at Stamping 411 .

Isn’t this a fun card? I had tons of fun playing with this new set soon to be released.  The set is called Bordering on Romance. I decided it would look good in Black and Vanilla with just a splash of color. Oh Yeah!!! How about that fun thin Ribbon??? You can get that during Sale-a-Bration. It’s just the coolest.
Anyway I colored in my image with my aqua painter and watercolor crayons. I used the Pumpkin Pie and Tangerine Tango for the mix of color. The leaves are done in Old Olive and Wild Wasabi.
The card base is stamped with one of the images to make my own background. I used Black Stazon for that. The first Black Layer is cut to 3 7/8 x 4 3/8 and then I cut a mat of Newsprint that is 3 3/4 x 4 1/4 to lay on top. The next black mat is 2 7/8 x 3 5/8 and the image piece is cut to 2 3/4 x 3 1/2. I stamped the image in Black Stazon and colored in. The final touches are the small pearls and the fun ribbon from the soon to be released Sale-a-Bration Catalog. I couldn’t decide on which ribbon to use so used them both. hehe
The sentiment is from Just Believe. Doesn’t it just fit the card perfectly?

Stamping 411 Sketch 234

Hi Everyone,
Welcome to the latest Sketch Challenge from Stamping 411!!!
I Hope you will find time in your busy days to play along with us this week. It’s really a stress reliever….really!!
For this weeks sketch I used the lovely Simply Soft Hostess Set. I so adore this set. It’s so easy to work with.

Here is my take on the sketch….hope you like it.
  Crumb Cake is the base of the card and is cut to 5 1/2 x 8 1/2 The Vanilla Mat is cut to 3 3/4 x 5 and run through the Big Shot using the Polka Dot Embossing Folder.
I added a strip of Crumb Cake and punched with the Scalloped Edge Punch. On that I added some Melon Mambo Designer Paper….cut to 1 1/2 x 5 1/2.I attached the double loop bow behind the mat with adhesive.
The image piece is stamped with Black Stazon and colored in with Pretty in Pin, Rose Red and and Melon Mambo Markers. I used Old Olive for the branch and leaves. there is just a hit of shadow created using the Sahara Sand Marker going lightly around the image. the little just for you is stamped on scraps and cut with scissors. I did pop that up with dimensionals.
