Wisteria Meets Blue and Great News!

Hi Everyone,

Just wanted to share a cute little box with you that I made last week. It’s all got to do with my Little Tutorial on how to make these GORGEOUS Flowers. Well I think so anyway…I hope you do too. Tutorial available on the Right Sidebar.

For those of you that know me, you know I’ve wanted to offer simple tutorials that everyone can use. They will be simple things that we all can make with little effort . We all know I like Simple Elegance and Hope to offer that to you by way of Project Sheet Tutorials. My little instruction sheets (yes there will be more) will cover a variety of projects. So keep watching for the next one. It’s great news for me….I hope it is for those of you that have been asking me to do this.

This Tutorial is for the Flower only and is the Flower I put on my Convention Hat (see right side bar). Here it is done in Bashful Blue and Wisteria Wonder and sitting atop a box.

flower box white background 006The box bottom is done with Bashful Blue while the top is done is our new Beautiful Wisteria Wonder. I ran a few pieces of it through the Big Shot using the Vintage Wallpaper Embossing Folder and then sponged on some Wisteria Wonder to age it a bit.

The box Dimensions are 8x8 for the bottom scored at 2” on all sides. The top is 6x6 and scored at just a smidgen less than 1” on each side.

I hope you like this little box as much as I do and I hope you will consider making one of your own and sharing it with me.

As always….thanks for stopping by!!!

Stamping 411 Sketch 214~Nature Walk

Hi Everyone,

Time for yet another sketch challenge from Stamping 411 I hope you will find time to play along this week.

Here is the sketch:

ssc_214

….and my interpretation….

sketch 214 002

I just love the “Nature Walk” set from Stampin’ Up! It’ makes designing a card so easy and fun.

The base of this card is Basic Black and cut to 5 1/2 x 8 1/2, The Wisteria Wonder Mat (oh so pretty) is cut to 4 x 5 1/4 and the First Edition DSP is 3 7/8 x 4 1/8.

I used my Scallop Square Die for the Black scalloped Mat and just cut off the top and have a Wisteria Wonder Mat cut to 2 1/2 x 2 3/4 and th3e Very Vanilla Piece is cut to 2 3/8 2 5/8. I stamped the image on that by u=inking up the stamp with my Old Olive Marker and Wisteria Wonder Marker and huffing on it before stamping.  I did a bit of repeat stamping to give it more fullness. The ribbon is done with Black Taffeta Ribbon made into a Double Bow. I attached the Scalloped image piece with dimensionals to pop it up a bit. I hope you like it.

Thanks for stopping by and hope you’ll go on over the the Stamping 411 and play along or just see what the other talented Operators have done with this.

Have a great weekend.

Hi Everyone,

I wanted to share this workshop card I did yesterday for a workshop. First of all this original idea was not mine….not sure who the creator was but I loved it when I saw it in the V. I. P. Room at the Stampin’ Up! Convention this year. I just had to make one. I changed it up a bit by adding a layer and omitting a green strip and placing the pearls differently. So what do you think?

Stamping 411 Sketch # 213~ Happy Again

Got a fun one for you this week. Easy Peasy and tons of fun! I hope you can play along with this one this week. It won’t take long I promise.

Here is the Sketch:

ssc213

…and my fun and easy Graduation Card I needed.

Sketch 213

I used several elements to make this come together. I used the Circle Circus Set (it’s been way to long since I’ve had that one out) for the upper background stamped randomly with my new fav’s….Calypso Coral and Lucky Limeade!

The Dsp is from the “Just Add Cake”Collection. I’m really loving the colors and designs of this paper a lot. I added a piece of that 2 x 4 1/4 and then a scalloped piece of Lucky Limeade with a narrow strip of DSP again.

The sentiment is from Happy Greeting from the Mini Catalog.  It was then punched out suing the Decorative Label Punch and another two to piece together the mat. the Flower was done in white and sponged with Calypso Coral. I just had to do bling as it was on my work area. Don’t forget (I almost did) to use your corner rounder for the corners.

Hope you like it. Have a fabulous weekend!!

Convention Day #3

Hi Everyone,

As you know the theme for this years Stampin’ Up! Convention is “Grow”!!! So lots of gorgeous Paper Flower Creations….look at this that was demonstrated for us. I so want to make this and the cute basket too. How darling, huh? It’s amazing how real these paper creations look and how easy they are to reproduce. I think I will do a class on making paper flowers when I return. Maybe I’ll do a “Decorate your own Hat” Class. Something like that. My brain is a little fried right now so creative titles are escaping me right now but you get the gist right? Holy Moly are we ever tired!!!! Convention Day 3 116

Lunch time….one of my favorite time to hook up with Special Friends…..These ladies are so specail to me. Julie in the center back is kind enough to share her Mom Midge with me. We’ve made it tradition to have lunch together every year. Midge is 82 years young and runs circles around me and most people there. She’s also the funniest person I know. She says I’m her “hero” actually she’s mine!!! Yesterday she said you know I think I’m the oldest Broad here!!!! Too funny!!! I love ya Midge…you too Julie!!

   Convention Day 3 134

Rich Jutkins the President and COO of Stampin’ Up! stopped by our table so we got a picture with him. Nice guy…..funnier than all get out too! I asked him since the next Incentive trip was to Disney and I only live 2-21/2 hours away and they didn’t have to buy a plane ticket for me if they could send a Limo…..he cracked up!!!I somehow don’t think that will happen…do you? hehe

 Convention Day 3 136

Here I am getting ready to walk stage for $30K in Sales…..I’m hoping to make the $40K mark next year. I so want that Trip to Fiji!!!! Who wouldn’t right?

Convention Day 3 137

Just got off the stage….Sandi said I didn’t stand there long enough to snap my picture up there. It’s really difficult to stand there for more than a second. Guess I’ll never be a public speaker or presenter!! hehe It is fun to walk stage though.

Convention Day 3 138

Here is Shelli Again getting ready to show us some projects…..she brought along her darling Daughter Shalae, what a cutie. It was her first time presenting and she did an awesome job. We always look forward to not only seeing the projects they do but the outfits they wear…they are always so darn cute..well especially on them.

Convention Day 3 142 Convention Day 3 146

Shalae was a bit nervous so Mom said lets do a few Yoga breathing exercises…..calmed her right down. Speaking of Yoga Shelli said if she comes to Jacksonville she is going to call me and have me try Yoga with her. She said will you do that with me…..uh…let me think…..YES!!!!!

Convention Day 3 147

Here I am with Brian….cute guy from Stampin’ Up! we were dragging our tried bodies through the convention center after dinner at PF Changs and ran into him. So of course we had to talk ….he was as tired as we were and we just giggled the whole time……

Convention Day 3 314

Forgot to take a picture of us at PF Changs but sure did get one of the desserts. Can you believe these desserts??? We asked for the no calorie ones….luckily they had these. hehe

Convention Day 3 313 Convention Day 3 310

That’s it for today…..come back tomorrow if you’d like and see more of convention.

Almost forgot here is Sandi walking stage for one of her numerous awards…..she had an awesome year. You go girl. Make sure to check out her fabulous blog here for more convention details.

Stamping 411 Sketch 212

Welcome back to my blog and another Sketch Challenge from Stamping 411!! I hope you can play along this week.

Here is the sketch:

ssc212

…..and my interpretation. Not sure how I feel about his one.

sketch 212

I love-love-love these colors and can’t seem to pull anything else from my paper wracks these days. I just love this color. For those of you that don’t know it’s Calypso Coral!!!

My card is a standard size and was cut to 4 1/4 x 11 and scored and folded.

The next layer is Basic Black and that is 1 7/8 x 4 1/4 for the mat on the left. The image piece was stamped with Black Stazon and showcases the Clearly For You Stamp Set. I’m so glad this little set made it to the Big Catalog. I love it. Anyway I stamped the little flower on Very Vanilla several times leaving room to punch out along with the butterflies too. Then I punched out using my Postage Punch. How cute is that. So I glued all these stamps onto a black mat cut to 3 3/4 x 3 3/4. So it didn’t look quite right to me and I had some left over Paint Spray I made up last week for my Tutorial and thought what the heck and gave it a few sprays. Well that was after I colored in the images. I popped that mat up on dimensionals and added a bit of black satin ribbon for the bow which I think makes it POP! One final thing was the sentiment. I stamped the flower on a scrap and colored and stamped the “For You” on it. Then I added a little bling and It’s  good to go.

I hope you like it. this one was a touch one for me. Not sure why but it was. I can’t wait to see what everyone else did.

Have a great weekend.
