Now onto the sketch and my card.

Here is the sketch…

ssc_184

…and my card.

I have to admit I saw Connie’s card a few weeks back and love this little flower done in Baja Breeze and the Pearl so I embellished on that. (Thanks for the inspiration Connie). The flower is from the Just Believe Set and colored with markers in Baja and Old Olive.

 Sketch 184 and class 010

The Card Base is Very Vanilla and cut to 5 1/2 x 8 1/2 and folded. The Horizontal piece in vanilla is 1 1/4 x 5 1/2 and the Baja Mat is 1 1/2 x 5 1/2. The Baja Seam Binding Ribbon was scrunched behind using snail to hold it in the back of the mat. I then went Pearl Crazy as I had lots of these little pearls on my desk….nuts huh? The Vanilla piece is actually scored at every 1/4 inch for texture. Almost looks like bead board but you can’t tell from here.

The Vertical Mat is 2 1/4 x 3 5/8 and the image piece is 2 1/8 x3 1/2. I added pearls to the vase created with Baja Card Stock and Large Oval Punch and and snipped the top and bottom almost straight…hehe …..(gives it character, not being totally straight)…sponged one side to give dimension and popped it up over the image. I then added a piece on the side using the Modern Label Punch and added the pearl. I also used the little tiny Jewelry Tag Punch and hung it from some of our Linen Thread. That’s it.

Hope you enjoyed my little share today and will join us in this weeks challenge.

Thanks to our Group Mom, Selene Kempton for bringing this fabulous group together. Love ya Selene!!!!

All you have to do is leave a comment on each Operators Blog you would like to participate in. Read below for the full scoop…..

Now onto the sketch…..

Here is the sketch:SSC183

….and my interpretation.

Christmas and Sketch 183 030 I had so much fun building this with my new punch that will be available in January. It’s a sneak peek of what’s to come.

The set I used is called Build a Blossom and the Punch is called Blossom Petals Punch. I used some of the DSP from the Brights Pattern Pack.

The card Base is Whisper White and measures 5 1/4 x 10 1/2 and the Pretty in Pink Mat is 5 1/8 x 5 1/8. Followed with the DSP Mat cut to 5x5. I then made and Old Olive Mat that measures 4x4 and then used a piece of white embossed with the Polka Dot Embossing Folder that measures 3 3/4 x 3 3/4. I popped that layer up with Dimensionals.  Ahhhhhhhh…then the process of building the flower. I stamped the flower petals in Regal Rose and used two of the petal stamps. then punched them out. I cut a white circle using my 1 3/8 circle punch and using glue dots started building my flower by attaching the pieces to the circle. I did roll the petals a bit on a skewer to give them a rounded natural look. The center image is stamped in Old Olive and popped up with a big glue dot. The narrow mats behind the image are Pretty in Pink and cut to 1 x 5 1/4 and the white 3/4 x 5 and stamped with Curly Cute. So there ya go…..see what you have to look forward to….

Now onto my blog candy….you will have to leave your email address in your comment on my blog to be eligible to win and an answer to my Question…..”What is my Favorite Winter Color”?

Here is what one lucky person will get…one roll of Riding Hood Red Stripped Grosgrain Ribbon and my Bow Maker….

Good Luck Everyone!!! The winner will be announced on New Years Day.

Stamping 411 Sketch 182

Hi Everyone,

I’m taking a bit of a break from Christmas this week and definitely not using WHITE!!! I know…..but when I saw this sketch….I had a vision and here it is.

Here is the sketch……

SSC182

…and my interpretation or vision hehe!!!

Sketch 182 and How to Make a Gift Bag 027

I just don’t use this image enough and wanted to make a card with some Oriental Flair. I hope I accomplished it.

The sketch this week called for a square and I cut the base of the Card (Black) to 5 x 10. The Red Mat is 4 3/4 x 4 3/4 and embossed the the Baroque Motif Stamp Set using Versamark and Black Embossing Powder. Don’t forget to use your embossing Buddy!!! The next Horizontal Piece is embossed as well and is black cut to 1- 5/8 x 4 and the gold is cut to 2-1/8 x 3 and embossed gold on gold (love that)! The circle is a 3” circle and stamped with Black Stazon using the  Geisha from Dream Garden s. I then used my Versamarker and did the swan and embossed again in gold. Just a few flowers in red with my Real Red Marker and finished it off by taking my Versamark pad and swiping the edges of the circle and embossing in gold. I popped everything up with Dimensionals, in fact I added double stacks of Dimensionals to the center of the image to give it a dome like look and single Dimensionals to the edges. Lets not forget the exquisite Black Satin Ribbon either…..that was the frosting on the cake!!!

Hope you like it….don’t forget to visit the other Operators, I just know you’ll be wowed with the talent!!

Thanks for stopping in….

WOW!!!

Hi Everyone,

No card today but a share on what I did today. Today I got to present the Check (monies) to the Second Harvest Food Bank here in Jacksonville, Florida. This was money that we raised through raffles at a Stampin’ Out Hunger Event that I ran with with some of my Team Members. We were able to raise $773 and my Arlington Civitan Group bumped it up to $1000!!!! Do you know what that means in terms of food?

Second Harvest Check 004

That means that 6000 meals will be provided with this check!!! Vickie Rumbers a friend and customer of mine who represented Second Harvest today explained: The Second Harvest has the ability to purchase food at a greatly reduced price to provide that many meals …..we were astounded.

Second Harvest Check 008

Seen above harry Mangini, Arlington Civitan Pres., Vickie Rumbers, Second Harvest, myself (chaplain of the Arlington Civitan) and Angie Caulder…our Treasurer and Manager of the Bluewater Storage Center where we had our event.

Me presenting the check. (I made the check…can you tell??)

Thanks to everyone, my Girls, my friends and family and my loyal customers and yes…. my Civitan Family for making this such a huge success.

A special Thanks to Jeff and Angie Caulder of  Bluewater Storage for giving our event a home. We really appreciate it. Together…we made a difference!!!

Merry Christmas!!!

Stamping 411 Sketch 181

Hi Everyone,

Is this month not flying by??? OMG!! I just can’t believe we only have a few weeks until Christmas. In all the hustle and bustle of the Holiday Season the show must go on over at Stamping 411!!! I hope you will take a moment for yourself and play along this week.

Here is the sketch:

SSC181

…and the simple card I created for it.

Sketch 181 003

Totally Simple and Elegant and I think this will be my Christmas Card. You know the beauty of Stamping 411??? You get to play along with templates that are already created for you by Selene and Gretchen….it sure does make card making easy. Hope you will give it a try.

My card base is 5 1/2 x 8 1/2 and then the layer mat is 4 x 5 1/4. The mat is run partially through the Vintage Wallpaper Embossing Folder simply by inserting the part you want embossed. the image piece was stamped with Black Stazon onto Very Vanilla and colored with my Always artichoke marker and blender with my blender pen. I did a light blue outline with my watercolor pencil and blender pen as I love that look. The card and mat of course are done in Very Vanilla and the only color is the mat I created mimicking the Extra large Decorative Label Punch. I punched two in Cherry Cobbler and pieced behind the image piece that was punched out.

The Merry Christmas is stamped in Cherry Cobbler and the stamp is from Come to Bethlehem.

The final and crowning touch to this card to give it a little pizzazz is the Cherry Cobbler  Seam Binding Ribbon which I adore. I made a triple bow with my bow maker. That’s it!!! Hope you enjoyed it and will think about playing along this week. Take a minute for you and de-stress!!!

Bells and Boughs & Stampin’ Out Hunger Event.

Good Morning Everyone,

This past Saturday I did and event called Stampin’ Out Hunger with some of my Stampin’ Up! Team Members. It was a fabulous event where our customers got to make seven projects, have a catered lunch and win fabulous prizes. Part of the admission was to bring canned food that we collected for the Second Harvest Food Bank. In addition to that we had many, many raffle items that brought in over $650 for the Second Harvest. What a great feeling to know that we as a team helped put food on many tables for the holidays.

Here is the card I did for the event. I used the bells and Boughs Stamp Set and Sahara Sand Cardstock with The Deck The Halls DSP and our fabulous Always Artichoke Seam Binding for the Triple Bow Ribbon. I of course used my Magic Bow Maker for the Bow. I also used some of our flat pearls for the accent. I hope you like it.
