Alaskan Dream….maybe????

alaska (2)

Hi Everyone,

You are not going to believe this……I am really getting close to the Alaskan Cruise, which is the incentive trip from Stampin’ Up!

If you are one of my followers and would like to order a little something to help…I’d so appreciate it. I didn’t realize how close I was until my friend Selene figured it out for me today and then I got notified by Stampin’ Up! too that it could still happen. I guess I’ve just been working so hard that I didn’t think I had a chance…..well I do…with your help……but it has to happen today before Midnight……

If you’d like to help and order you can go directly to my website

Thanks for thinking about it and maybe even making my longtime dream come true.

Thanks everyone and as always have a

Mega Stamping Event for the Pace Girls

Hi Everyone,

Long post today,

I wanted to share some pictures of the Mega Stamping Event we had here in Jacksonville, Florida yesterday!

It was a Benefit Event that we did for The Pace Center for Girls which is a school for Girls at Risk.

I have been stamping with them and it occurred to me that we could build a Stampin’ Corner at their school. So I gathered some of my Demonstrators and we did just that. We also had a few volunteers.

This was held at the Sandollar Restaurant on the St. Johns River here in Jacksonville. Can I just say it was hot!!!! It was easily 100+ degrees, but we were determined and so were our customers. They had a blast and loved the idea of an event like this. They enjoyed a wonderful Buffet Lunch and stamped the morning and part of the afternoon away. It was great, hot but great! We had tons of door prizes and even more wonderful raffle items.

We will be placing an order of around $650 for our Girls at Pace.

Thanks to all of our wonderful customers and friends that joined us. You all contributed to the success of our project and we Thank You!!!

Also joining me were fellow Arlington Civitans, Leo Farrell (whose voice I borrowed for the Prize drawings) and Caroline Simes of Aware Not Afraid …and lets not forget Harry the owner (fellow Civitan )of the Sandollar.

Enjoy the pictures and projects below……

Stamping 411 Sketch Challenge

Hi Everyone,

Time for another Sketch Challenge from Stamping 411. I hope you will play along this week, it’s easy and fun. Hope to see you over there. If nothing else make sure to check out all the fabulous work by my fellow Operators and our Guests!!

Here is the Sketch:ssc157 (2)

….and my interpretation……

411 swap Cards 002

I had decided to use some of our new Cardstock “ Cherry Cobbler”, it’s just a beautiful color and so rich. I paired it with Whisper White to get the clean crisp look I love.

The card base is cut at 4 1/4” x 11 and folded in half. I then cut the white mat to 3 7/8” x 5 1/8”

I made a bow with my Magic Bow Maker only this time I tried making a double bow and it worked!! I just wrapped it around twice and it’s a sweet little double Bow. I attacehed it to the back with Adhesive and then placed the white Dotted (ran through my Big Shot with the Polka Dot Embossing Folder) piece on my Cherry Cobbler. My image piece is 1 5/8 x 1 3/4 and popped up with dimensionals onto my dotted mat. I made the mat by stamping the polka dot stamp in the “For All You Do” Stamp Set 4 times and cut out to make the square and mounted onto the Cherry Cobble Mat which measures 2 3/4 x 2 7/8. I also popped that up with dimesnionals. It was still pretty stark so I added the little tiny slivers of Cherry Cobble to the corners to give it a little punch…I attached those with my Tombo Multi..(love that stuff).

It still needed just a little something so I made a little Friends tag with my Tiny Tags set and punch.

So there ya go….my little share for today. I hope you like it.

Thanks for stopping by and as always…

Stamping 411 Sketch Challenge

Hi Everyone!

Time for another sketch challenge over at Stamping 411. I have no idea where this week has gone…just flew by!!

Well here we go….here is the sketch (feel free to play along)

ssc156 (2)

……and here is my interpretation……...

   SKetch 156 Studio Sketches 001

I thought and thought I wanted to do a summer card as it’s so hot here…but this set just kept glaring at me from my shelf of goodies. So here it is. It’s a Sneak Peek at one of the Stamp Sets coming in the new Catalog. It’s called Studio Sketches. I love it!!!

I used Very Vanilla for the Card Base 5 1/2” x 8 1/2” and ran the front of the card through the Big Shot using the Finial Press Embossing Folder.

I have a a strip of Chocolate Chip that is 4 1/4” and tore it in half for the torn edges. I layered a piece of Bravo Burgandy on top of that that is 3” x 4 1/4”. Then I have a Very Vanilla Piece stamped with En Francais’ in Bravo Burgandy. My Image piece is2 1/2” x 2 1/2” and matted on Chocolate Chip that is 2 3/8” x 2 3/8”. I stamped the image with Basic Brown and colored with my Watercolor Pencils and Blender Pen to blend.

Lets not forget the ribbon and Button…..for a little touch of pazazz!!

That’s it. Hope you like it! Thanks for stopping by and hope to see you over at Stamping 411 with the challenge.

It’s the Thought and Blog Candy Winner

Hi Everyone!!

Thanks so much for all of the wonderful comments. I so appreciate it. First I want to share the simplest of simple cards I’ve ever made (I think). Who said a card has to be difficult to be cute? Not me!! hehe

this is one of our new Hostess sets in the Summer Mini called “It’s the Thought”…so cute. You too can own this adorable set by Hostessing a workshop or have qualifying order. It’s that simple.

It's the Thought 004

Isn’t it cute? I embossed the front of the card with my Polka Dot Embossing Folder and stamped the little bowl of cherries image in Black Stazon. Then I colored with Watercolor Pencils and blended with my blender Pen. I love what the little saying says….”take a moment”…that’s what y’all did and I Thank You!

Notice I made my bow on my Magic bow Maker…..speaking of which….

WE HAVE A WINNER!!!!!!!!!

Bow maker for sidebar

I just picked a number from Random.org and it selected #7

Lori Said:

“I always just tie knots so I don't have to deal with bows...lol! Would love to win the bow maker!
Love your card...as always!”

Congratulation Lori…please contact me with your mailing information.

That’s it for today…..keep your eyes open and check back often….I may have another Give-a-Way very soon!!!

Now go out and have a ……….

I will not only send you the Magic Bow Maker but also the Bow seen below and a full picture color tutorial. So leave a comment today and tomorrow morning I will announce the winner. Bow maker for sidebar  Bows 004_thumb[15]

Now I’d like to  show you the second card I did in my three Technique Classes yesterday featuring the Faux Linen Technique. This card uses the En Francais Background Set and the Friends 24/7 Set. I think it made for a beautiful combination. Everyone seemed to enjoy it.

Faux Linen Technique Cards 001

Faux Linen

Sand Glossy Cardstock by dragging a Sanding Block first one way on you cardstock and then the other way to create etches in the cardstock. Then you will sponge some color on. First color will lightly cover the entire are and then add dabs of two other colors in some of the areas. I suppose you don’t have to use 3 colors I just happen to like it that way. If it’s too dark you can soften by sanding again to get a soft beautiful finish.

I so appreciate each and everyone of you that visits and hope that you have a wonderful week.

Thanks again for everything!!!….now go out and have a …./

Krista’s Sketch Challenge~Upsy Daisy

Good Morning Everyone,

Here is the third  challenge card I have done for Krista’s  challenge. Krista was kind enough to have me as Guest Designer for the month of June. Thanks Krista.

Here is the sketch:

Sketch Challenge 36 (2)

…and my interpretation…

Sketches and 5th ave 003

I’ve showcased the Upsy Daisy Stamp set and stamped it with Summer Sun and daubbered the edges with Really Rust. I have the same colors for the mats and scalloped strip running across. I found the Polka Dot Crushed Curry Ribbon matched really well so added that for a little extra. I then ran a few scraps through my Big Shot using my little Butterfly Sizzlet. I love that little thing.

Oh, I removed the Summer Sun from the stems with a Blender pen and then filled in with a Old Olive Marker. I didn't get them all but that’s the way I wanted it!!! hehe

Thanks for stopping by and wish you all a ….
