Cardinal Christmas

Good Morning Everyone!

Welcome to yet another Sketch Challenge from Stamping 411

I hope you will take the time to play along this week. The sketch was done by our illustrious Sketch Artist Selene Kempton. Doesn’t she do a fabulous job???

Without further ado….here is the sketch for the week:

ssc126

…and here is my interpretation.:

Sketcch 126

When I first saw this sketch I knew exactly what set I would use. I chose Cardinal Christmas by Stampin’ Up! Isn’t the Bird exquisite?

It’s kind of like magic when you look at these sketch's and go through the Stampin’ Up! Catalog, so what I do….kind of see what fits. It’s pretty easy for the most part. I’ve started taking my sketches with me for Doc Appointments…Hair Appointments, you name it. If I have some time I’m figuring it out. So before I sat down to stamp I had figures out what I would do on paper. So cool!!! I hope you’ll play along!

Here are the Cardstock Sizes:

Real Red Card Base: 5 1/2”x 8 1/2 “ Stamped with Red form the Cardinal Christmas Set

Very Vanilla Strip 1” x 4 1/4”  Embossed using out Petals a Plenty Embossing Folder and the Big Shot

Designer Series Paper 1” x 4 1/4”

Old Olive 2 3/4” 3 1/2” Embossed with the Petals-a-Plenty Embossing Folder

Vanilla Circle 3 3/4” Stamped the Cardinal Image and colored with Markers

Stamp Sets:

Cardinal Christmas, Itty Bitty Backgrounds.

Ink: Black Stazon

We Have a Winner!

Good Morning Everyone!

Wow!! I can’t get over the response for my little favor box. I’m just overwhelmed with your kindness.

Ornament Box

The Winner of this cute little Box is “Adair Svoboda” and she said:

“This is darling, Lee!!! It is so bright and festive! As for what I would put in it...I would put a piece of jewelry like a bracelet in it. It would be the perfect size).

Congratulations Adair and if you wouldn’t mind…send me your snail mail address so that I can send this to you next week!!

So who is the little bracelet and box going to?

Thanks everyone for playing along and leaving such wonderful comments. I will have to do this more often.

This Fancy Favor Box Could Be Yours…..

Good Morning Everyone,

How would you like to get this little box as a gift from me? Just leave a comment and tell me what you would put in it if you win. I’m interested to see what everyone has in mind for this darling little box. I will announce the winner on Thursday. Don’t forget to leave your contact info for me to get back with you.

We will be making this at my Stamp Camp this weekend.

This is made with the Big Shot from Stampin’ Up! and the Fancy Favor Box Die. It’s one of Shelli’s Signature Collections. Isn’t it sweet?

Ornament Box

You cannot believe how easy this was to put together. Just fold and tape….that’s it. I used an ornament stamp form the Delightful Decorations Set and our Ornament Punch for the Ornament, added a rhinestone and a little of or new Red Dotted Grosgrain and you’ve got it made. I’ll be putting a little something in this for someone special.

Thanks for stopping by and as always….

Santa in Flight

Good Morning Everyone!

I have another Stamp Camp Share for you today featuring the “Wandering Words Stamp Set.

Wandering Words Nov. Camp

I inked the Santa and his Reindeer in Chocolate chip then removed the ink with a blender pen from the Santa and his sleigh, and applied some Ruby Red with my Ruby Red Marker. Huffed on it and stamped on white. I then mounted a piece of Vellum on over that and stamped some little snowflakes in Versamark. I sprinkled Heat and Stick onto that snowflakes and heated…then poured some Dazzling Diamonds over to adhere to the Heat and Stick. Heat just a tad more to set and you’ve got great sparkly snowflakes with the greatest detail!!!

The colors are Ruby Red and Chocolate Chip. the strip at the bottom of the card is run through the Big Shot with my Petals a Plenty Embossing Folder……you know it’s my all time favorite.

The ribbon was fun to do and I just made loops and stuck in place with glue dots.

That’s all for now. Don’t forget if you’re in my Jacksonville, Florida area and would like to attend my camp this weekend just let me know.

….and as always….

I will share a card today that features the Lovely as a Tree Stamp set. If you are a Stampin’ Up! Demonstrator or Customer you must own this set.

It was the first set I purchased when I started stamping and it’s still my all time favorite.

I will be doing this card at my Christmas Stamp Camp this weekend. If you’re in the area I’d love to have you.

Lovely as a Tree Nov Camp

This is done with a black card base, a basic gray mat and stamped in black. Lots of glitter and sparkle to this one.

This card was inspired by Melinda Carmain.

Pun Fun Cutie!!

Good Morning Everyone and welcome to another challenge from The Stamping 411 Operators. I hope you’ll play along and also take the time to see what the other Operators are doing.

Here is this weeks sketch:

ssc125

…and my interpretation……

Sketch 124 and 125 001

For this fun card I used the “Pun Fun” set from Stampin’ Up!

The base of the care is Melon Mambo and cut at 4 1/4” x 11 and score at 5 1/2”

I then did a mats measuring 4x 5 1/4 for the black and 3 3/4 x 5 for the white which is stamped with the Polka Dot Background Stamp.

The Image piece is actually a scrap of Watercolor Paper and measures 2 1/2 square. I stamped the image in Black Stazon and used my Watercolor pencils and Aqua Painter to color in the image. I just love using our watercolor paper and coloring that way. The Melon Mambo and Black Mats are cut to 2 1/2” square.

That’s about it, I’ hope you’ve enjoyed your visit and will come back soon.

Don’t forget to visit Stamping 411 and play along.

A Wish for Peace

Good Morning Everyone,

Today I’d like to share a card I did for a new customer. She wanted to do a card similar to the one in the Stampin’ Up! Catalog featuring “A Wish for You” Stamp Set. She is very new to Stamping and asked if I’d do a card and keep it simple and duplicatable. We decided to go with the same design as in the book which is Sage Shadow and change the background mat to chocolate chip. She wanted to be able to stamp in one color to keep it simple…so we did Chocolate Chip Ink and CC Ribbon. She wanted Dazzling Diamonds on it to. So here is the slightly revised card for Susan.

A Wish for Peace 001

Have you looked in the Stampin’ Up! Catalog for inspiration lately? Let me tell you it’s there. If you’d like to take a peek at the catalog you can download it on my sidebar.

Let me know if I can be of any help with your Holiday Card Making.

Baby Boy Onesie’s

Good Morning Everyone,

I was in need of two Baby Cards. One for my Dear Friend Lisa who is having a Baby Boy. I am having a Baby Shower for her and it will be her invite (if she likes it).

My other Dear Friend Amy’s daughter just had twin Baby Boys. So I added an extra Bunny on her card.

Baby Boy Onsie's 001

I sure hope they like them. I just couldn’t resist this little onesie….it’s so soft and pretty, and the Finial Press Embossing Folder from Stampin’ Up! was just the right thing to finish it off.

I was inspired by Donna over at Butternut Sage Design.

Eastern Blooms Start to Finish Class

Good Morning Everyone,

Every month I have a “Start to Finish Class” for my customers. In this class I give color handouts of the cards we will be making with all of the dimensions. I then give them cardstock and they complete the cards from start to finish. I think it has really helped some of my customers feel more confident in cutting for themselves. After all I want them to use what they purchase.

Here is one of the cards (I keep them simple) we will be doing at this months class. it features the Eastern Blooms set and our Trio Flower Punch. Quick, easy and fun.  It’s done with our Melon Mambo and Black Cardstock, a little paper piercing and voila! I hope you enjoy it.

Glitter~Glitter~ Everywhere!!!

Good Morning Everyone!

Can I just tell you how much I love this Ornament Punch? Well I do!!!

I decided to use this for my Stampin 411 sketch challenge this week. I hope you like it.

Here is the sketch…done by our fantabulous Selene!!!

ssc124

….and here is my interpretation…………

Sketch 124 and 125 003

I first started with my fold over which is 5 1/2” x 8 1/2” and used my Petals a Plenty Embossing Folder from Stampin’ Up! I then cut the two strips to 1 -1/2” by 3- 3/4” and 1- 1/2”x 4-1/4”

My mats are cut to 2” square and 2 1/4” square. I punched an ornament with the Ornament Punch and cut in half. I used lots of dimensionals to make it pop which is sometimes difficult for tone on tone cards but hopefully I’ve achieved it. I did use some Dazzling Diamonds applied with a 2-way glue pen and also some of our Fine Supernova Glitter for the Ornament. The sentiment is from “Berry Christmas.

Okay, now that you’ve visited with me I hope you’ll go on over to Stamping 411 and see what the other Operators are doing and also play along. We’d love to have you.

Thanks for stopping by and as always….

Just a little funny!!! Must Read!!!

Sometimes you have to wonder….

I have a little story to share with all of you today. It’s something that happened to me at one of our local Food and retail chains here in Jacksonville, Florida last week.

I will refer to me as “Me” and the Retail Store and “CS”.

I was going to have a Christmas Card Camp on Friday and Saturday and decided because it was Halloween and getting a bit cooler I would make Chili for my girls. So off I go to the RS and get the goodies I need to make it. While there I see they have these gorgeous Apples for sale at $1.00 a pound……oh, I thought to myself….self…you need to make an apple cake…the girls will love it.

Apples 001

So I bundled up several apples in a bag and proceed to the check out. As the cashier weighed them I noticed they rang up at $1.78 a pound and not the $1.00 a pound as  offered. I question it and the cashier said it was alright…..well no it wasn’t!!! I checked the receipt and she rang my Apples up as Tomatoes.

She (CS)totaled me out and the sent me over to the Service Desk to wait in line to resolve the issue. I waited patiently and was greeted by three(3) Customer Service People. I told them what happened and they all looked at each other and one said: “Well you know Apples weigh more than Tomatoes”! They all concurred that, that was correct.

I kind of shook my head in disbelief and said: we’re not talking about a weight issue we’re talking about a price issue. They assure me they were right and that “Apples weighed more than Tomatoes”. Man!!! I didn’t buy any Tomatoes!!! Besides I told them a pound is a pound is a pound!!!

CS finally agreed to refund me part of the money but only because I was raising a stink…not because of me being right. They still believed that Apples weigh more than Tomatoes!!…..and I suppose they do but what the heck did that have to do with anything?

I'm taken to a different register for this transaction and CS hands me $1 and some change…now I know it’s not right, but she wants me to sign the refund receipt….I ask to see the receipt and the original receipt…on the first on it said “Tomatoes” 3.26#” and on the second receipt  it said “Apples” 3.91#!!!! Okay Houston we have another problem!!! Now I’ve got all three(3) CS people there and you’re not going to believe what the argument was for the extra weight????? You got it!!! APPLES WEIGH MORE THAT TOMATOES!!!!!!!!

I can’t believe I caved in but I did,I had things to do and cakes to bake!!!

I sure hope my Girls enjoyed that cake. I was drained by the end of that outing.

So remember that very Important lesson I learned……Apples Weigh more than Tomatoes!!!!

I hope you enjoyed my little story now have a …
